What is the worship like?

Everything we do at East Side Baptist, including our worship services, is designed to glorify God and help followers of Jesus Christ spiritually grow. During each service, you’ll have the opportunity to join us in singing uplifting music with time-honored messages from the Word of God.  In Sunday morning worship services, you'll be spiritually encouraged by hearing special music from our choir, ensembles, and soloists.  The music is always followed by a clear and challenging Bible message.  You can expect to hear truths from the Bible that are applicable to your everyday life and necessary for your spiritual growth.  To get an even better idea of what Sundays at East Side Baptist are like,  visit our sermon page for past messages.

Do you have small groups?

Yes, the best way to get to know people at East Side Baptist Church is to visit one of our Bible classes on Sunday mornings.  After a time of fellowship and refreshments at 9:30 a.m., Bible classes begin  at 10:00 a.m. These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people and hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your stage of life.  East Side Baptist Church has three adult classes and classes for children of all ages.  If you would like to learn more about East Side Baptist Church, then please attend the "Discovery" class with Pastor Acker in Room #1 in the basement of the church building.  When you arrive in the church foyer, an usher will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.

Where do I take my children?

For children two years old through sixth grade, there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes on Sunday mornings in the Education Building at 10:00 a.m. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.  These children will be dismissed during the morning worship service for Children's Church.  Childcare is available for the Sunday morning worship service and for Sunday School upon request.  On Sunday evenings, these children can join our Truth Trackers Bible Club in Room #3 in the Education building.

For teenagers seventh grade and up, there is interactive Bible instruction on the lower floor of the church building at 10:00 a.m.  Afterwards, the youth join their parents upstairs for the worship service.  Later on at 6:00 p.m., they meet on the lower floor of the church building for a Bible challenge, food, and fun activities.

How should I dress?

There is not a dress code at East Side Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional "Sunday" dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and loved when you visit East Side Baptist Church!

Will I be asked to give money?

No, we don't invite you to East Side Baptist Church for your money.  Actually, we want our ministry to be a gift to you. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.  We hope you will find in this ministry a warm family spirit, clear teaching and preaching of God's Word, and a place where you can spiritually grow, give of yourself to God, and go forward living your life for Him.
